This 80km return trip commences at historic Gympie Station. First stop is at Kandanga Station where a selection of local produce is available. Then, a lunchtime stop at Imbil which is the Valleys largest town. The journey is not complete without a stop at Dagun Station to savour local wine and cheeses, guaranteed to make the rest of your day a merry one.

This 40km steam train visits Amamoor, Dagun and the historic Gympie Station. Marvel at the splendor of these Stations, restored to capture the original character of the early 1900’s. Enjoy arts and crafts, wine and cheese tasting and local produce, experience the friendliness and hospitality of a bygone era.

Red Rocket Express
Our newly restored Rail Motor commenced service on the 19th September 2006. It operates a short tour on our Red Rail Motor No 76 commences at historic Gympie Station and winds its way out through the beautiful Mary Valley to Amamoor Station where you will have time for morning tea and a wander through the craft stalls before returning to Gympie Station by 11.20am.

We now offer a ploughman style lunch pack, which consists of:
Fresh damper, Butter, Egg, Chicken Drumsticks, Corned Meat, Gherkins, Cocktail Onions, Cherry Tomato’s, Salad, Cheese, Condiments, knife, fork & serviettes. Served in a takeaway container.
Ready to collect on arrival to Imbil Station, and you can enjoy it anywhere around the shady picnic area at the Imbil Station Yard or throughout Imbil Town.
