This 80km return trip commences at historic Gympie Station. First stop is at Kandanga Station where a selection of local produce is available. Then, a lunchtime stop at Imbil which is the Valleys largest town. The journey is not complete without a stop at Dagun Station to savour local wine and cheeses, guaranteed to make the rest of your day a merry one.

This 40km steam train visits Amamoor, Dagun and the historic Gympie Station. Marvel at the splendor of these Stations, restored to capture the original character of the early 1900’s. Enjoy arts and crafts, wine and cheese tasting and local produce, experience the friendliness and hospitality of a bygone era.

Club Car

Experience the days of steam travel in comfort aboard our licensed club car. The luxurious surroundings and personalized service will ensure your Mary Valley Tour is a memorable one.

The Valley Rattler Club Car.

In the Club Car Carriage you sit at a round wooden dining table with dining chairs and you receive a complimentary tea/coffee and biscuit. The Club Car is also licensed and has a snack bar.


Red Rocket Express

All Aboard the Red Rocket Express.RM 76 was built in 1927 and operated on the Mary Valley line in Queensland Railway days. This was the original Valley Rattler.

The Red Rail Motor (No 76) departs from the historic Old Gympie Station every Tuesday morning and travels to Amamoor Station where you will have time for morning tea and a wander through the craft shop.






Fettlers Lunch

Sumptuous Fettlers Lunch.A little something extra to consider when organising your trip on the Rattler…

We now offer a fettler style lunch pack, which consists of: three cold meats, garden salad, potato salad, pasta salad, cheese, egg and a bread roll. The fettlers’ lunch is served in a takeaway container with knife, fork and serviettes.

It is ready to collect on arrival at Imbil Station once the engine has been turned on the turntable. You can enjoy your fettlers’ lunch around the shady picnic area at the Imbil Station Yard or throughout Imbil Town.Fettlers Lunch by MVHR
