Twilight Markets June, July, August 2013
Twilight markets will be held at the Old Gympie Railway Station on the 3rd Saturdays of June, July and August 2013 from 4.00 pm. "The April markets were a great success, with stall holders and patrons keen for follow up events". Jim Walker, Manager of the MVHR said. "After consultation a decision was made to hold the markets in June, July and August 2013. Our follow up with the stall holders from the April markets was very encouraging".
"While the cooler months may have slowed a twilight event, the April markets were a great success. This success was based on an extensive local marketing campaign and also the introduction of Rail-Motor shuttles. These shuttles will be part of future Twilight Markets."
President of the MVHR, Tony Hallam, supported Jim Walker. "The April markets were a pleasant surprise. The visitors to the markets really had a wonderful time and the Rail-motor shuttles carried over 200 people. Thanks goes to the MVHR volunteers who marketed the Twilight Markets in such a comprehensive manner."
Bianca Nagy who operates the Refreshment Rooms café at Old Gympie Station was very pleased with the number of patrons at the café. "The café will be open for the markets and there is a chance for people to wander around, have a meal and a drink and have an enjoyable night out. The club car will be available as a venue for those who would like a quiet drink in a beautiful heritage setting. The Refreshment Rooms café is licensed ".
The MVHR twilight markets will operate from 4.00 pm onwards on the 3rd Saturday of each month with future markets being held on Saturdays 15 June, 20 July, 17 August, 21 September.
